Maol Murray Sloan is the Principal Attorney in the firm of Sloan & Associates. The nature of his practice is low-volume, marked by intense individual attention and matched with a high degree of skill and experience. While he utilizes associates, staff, and experts where needed, he is fully involved day to day in each case. He is able to do so by limiting the number of cases he undertakes. Clients are not relegated to associates or other personnel. Whether it is for a telephone conference or a court appearance, he is available and present.

Mr. Sloan's philosophy is reflected in his practice. His philosophy is to approach every matter notwithstanding the difficulty or intensity of the situation in an effort to resolve disputes without court intervention. Nevertheless, his ability to try complicated and contested matters is often the very antidote that is required to avoid having to go to trial.

Mr. Sloan is a graduate of Loyola University, where he received his A.B., and Loyola Law School, where he received his J.D. He regularly attends educational forums and seminars focusing on business valuation, tax issues, mediation, custody, paternity, alternative dispute resolution, and other family law topics. In 2009, he was a member of an American Bar Association delegation to South Africa, studying the status of family law in that country.

Over the years, Maol Murray Sloan has earned the respect of judges in front of whom he appears, and from other lawyers specializing in the field of family law, even those who have opposed him. His reputation for honesty and integrity is unblemished.

Like most lawyers in the field, Maol Murray Sloan has been affiliated with numerous professional associations, including the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He has received the highest ratings (5.0 out of a possible 5.0) by the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating, which reflects a combination of achieving a 'Very High General Ethical Standards' rating and a 'Very High Legal Ability'. Mr. Sloan was also selected to be an Illinois Super Lawyer in 2007. For approximately 10 years, Maol Murray Sloan published the Illinois Divorce Digest, a monthly compilation of trial court decisions in the greater metropolitan area including, but not limited to Cook, Lake & Dupage Counties. Recently he reintroduced the Digest, publishing important trial court decisions online at www.illinoisdivorcedigest.com. The Digest includes, in addition to trial opinions, profiles of judges, lawyers, and experts involved in each case reported.

His knowledge and awareness of the inclinations, tendencies and viewpoints of the very judges before whom he practices gives him an advantage over the other lawyers in this field.
